would be nice if we shared the gigs we're going to, nice way to suggest new artists, huh? I'm going to see OM tomorrow www.myspace.com/variationsonthemethey're a duo, drums + bass/voice. The bassist and singer is Al Cisnerios, formerly of stoner band Sleep. Thay make long, slow, psychedelic songs. Might be boring at times but I love their records and I'm so curious to see them live!

Great idea!
I only have tickets to see Brendan at the moment and a band my Boyfriend likes called Wooden Shjips (www.myspace.com/woodenshjips) who I haven't even listened to yet!
Someone good needs to come to my city!

oh, I still have to buy tickets to see Brendan, will have to do that next week...
OM were awesome! I had such a great time! Very slow and psychedelic, loved it. They even had an extra performer called Lichens, who opened the gig with an only 30-minutes ambient song made with live loops. A bit boring to be honest, but really interesting. He also played with OM in some songs.
I'd love to go and see Mastodon on thursday, mostly because one of my fave bands, Totimoshi, will open, but I have to save money as in the next days I have to book the flight to go to Holland in april - I'll go see the Roadburn festival, so it's a good cause.
I'll cheer myself up with a Black Crowes cover band on friday, yay!

I'm off to see The Dead Weather tomorrow night.... with a head cold, and after having today off work sick. My bad.
I'm looking forward to it. When Broken Boy Soldiers was first released, I was a little bit annoyed at the Jack White fanfare over here and snapped at a group of friends that "Jack White was overrated".
I have had to eat my words.

Aw you get to see Dean Fertita! Dean is one of my most favourite musicians : )) Not a big fan of the Dead Weather though, unfortunately.

I avoided Dead Weather when it was first released - mainly because of my petulant attitude to Mr White. Ignoring it turned out good for my budget because I picked up Horehound for under $10 months after its release. Woot! I can't help but shake my booty when I Cut Like a Buffalo comes on, and I've loved The Kills for a while now. Alison Mosshart is as sexy as hell. I youtubed a few of their live sets, and wasn't too sure about it... so tonight will answer all of my questions. Although I feel like crap, have a stuffy nose and earache and wish to hell it was on another night. That, and I'm going to have to go in my work clothes because I had yesterday off sick, and obviously still sick, and I don't want my boss to know that I'm going to a gig tonight... especially if I have to call in sick tomorrow.

Okay, so I, uh, saw Dead Weather last night...
I was all prepared to come on here, apologise publicly for ever saying that Jack White was overrated and state that THE DEAD WEATHER ARE THE BEST LIVE BAND EVER!
Then they came out for an encore... with I Cut Like a Buffalo and Treat Me Like Your Mother... and fell apart.
Their entire set was tight, Alison Mosshart was sultry and powerful. Dean Fertita was awesome, and the two Raconteurs (haha) were brilliant. We were eagerly anticipating their two biggest songs (over here anyway) during the long wait for an encore (you know its a long wait when the crowd stops clapping and starts looking around wondering if we should leave).
They came on to thunderous applause, and then broke into Buffalo... it was awful. I know it must be a tough song to hit live, but it they seemed completely out of sync and nothing like the band that we saw earlier in the night.
So, I'm in two minds about the gig. It was money well spent, but the finish keeps sticking in my mind.
That being said, I still want to apologise to Jack White. I'm still not a fan of the White Stripes, but dude, he is Apollo. No doubt about it.

I was thinking about going when he'll hit Italy, but I just spent €40 for the Pixies ticket (due on june 6th, same week as GpK) so I'm done for the moment... I would have loved to go as I didn't see the entire set in Holland, because Totimoshi were playing at the same time.
