Anyone going?
It will be my 3rd time in Paris, first Brendan solo gig and first time at Nouveau Casino. Seems like a small but fine venue, a lot of artists I like played there so it must be a trustable place.
I even found a cheap hotel really near the venue. Will be there with my boyfriend and maybe other friends (dunno yet - we'll go to Paris in 4 and will meet two more friends there, but I don't think the others will come to the show). My b/f is already jealous, hahaha, he says he will stop existing in my mind as soon as Brendan will play Metarie.
by the way: how's Brendan in the pre/after show? I mean, does he come out to the bar and hang out with fans and such? I'd so love to talk to him! When he came to Ferrara with the Raconteurs, a boy I talked with during the gig told me BB was cycling around the city the whole afternoon. The funny thing is that I was walking around the city the whole afternoon, hoping to catch him, but did not. So I'm still wishing I could tell him how much his music means to me.

I would love to go, but haven't really decided what I'm doing yet! Will have to have a talk with Boyfriend!
I've met Brendan a few times, I would say it's best to catch him after a show. Just be polite and respectful, eg. don't pester him while he's eating or something.
In my experience you'll probably catch him outside when he goes to get on the bus. Just stop him and ask if he minds talking to you for a minute. I've never seen him drinking in the bar after a show though, I think he generally hangs out backstage. Hope that helps!

Thank you! That helps surely! My "problem" after gigs is that I am so polite that I'm afraid of bothering artists even if I see thay are happily talking to other fans... haha, I'm so childish at times, especially when I'm in front of people I deeply respect. Imagine: I lived for 6 years in the same town as my favorite italian singer (Francesco Guccini) and I saw him walking around so many times... I NEVER had the courage to stop him and just tell I love his music! Would be nice if you came to Paris too, we could make a double couple gig hangout!

You're welcome! Oh bless you for being so poilte! I think that makes you a better person! I hate fans who think they deserve to meet the people that they admire, they don't realise it's a priviledge! We had a great chat with Brendan after one of the shows in October though, he happily made conversation with us for a while so I don't think we were keeping him! You should at least say hello I would love to come to Paris, Brendan and a romantic break and it would be great to meet you, but I don't think we can afford it! *Sob* *sob*!

owww, I'm sorry you cannot come, that would have been so nice! I wanted to come to one of the UK shows in October, but could not afford it either. Oh well, there will surely be other occasions!

yay!
I unfortunately will be alone - my boyfriend's boss retired his holidays just 2 days ago because of emergencies. But I had booked 2 tickets, so if you still have to buy yours I might sell you the extra one I have!

don't worry, I think I might avoid the queue to someone outside the Nouveau Casino and sell it, it won't be difficult. Anyways, if you see me say hi I'm blonde, wear transparent glasses, will have a light blue eastpack bag and white n pink adidas shoes - and will most probably be alone

Here I am! came back home last night - I'm a bit proved by my museum sunday, which caused me terrible leg pain - maybe also because I spent the whole saturday night standing on the top of my feet in front of the stage *_* The gig was AWESOME! I thought there were some audio problems, but I was in first row almost at Brendan's feet, and that is not exactly the place with the best acoustic in a concert hall. I saw some youtube videos shot form behind and the audio was excellent. Brendan did not seem too enthusiastic - I mean, when I saw him with the Raconteurs he was always smiling and laughing, he seemed very serious this time. I also was a bit sad because he did not come out after the show, even thou I got an autograph anyways. After travelling so far to see him I would have LOVED just to say hi, but I can understand he was tired or whatever else. Also met frune, who is so lovely! She and her boyfriend waited in the blistering cold with me for my friends to come and pick me up, thanks again!

Metarie! Glad you had such a great time!!
Again with Brendan not looking like he was enjoying it - I find this funny because when we spoke to him in Glasgow he said we didn't look like we were enjoying it, but people say that about him and he is! I think it's just his face, hehehe.
So you got an autograph?? Did someone take something backstage for you??
Did Brendan play 'Better Days'?? I loved that song and his voice <3

thank you! Yes, I got my ticket signed - I talked to the girl who was at the merch desk - and who i guess is that Emily you talked about in the other topic. She was so nice to me, I told her I had come from Italy just to see Brendan and she also saw my Metarie tatto, soo photographed it and took my ticket and the photo to Brendan backstage No, he didn't play "Better Days" - I also got the setlist from one of the stage technicians, but it's anyways a bit different from what was actually performed: there was a song I did not know, so might be

Did it sound like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN2eQ2xBlSkI'm glad you had a good time and that you got your ticket signed. And yeeeah, the front doesn't always sound the best but we wouldn't be anywhere else, right?! hehe, just as Sophie said, Brendan always seems to mention that people say he doesn't look like he's having fun or that the sound at the front sucks!
