I'd never been to QMU but the ABC suits better as it's nearer Queen Street station for getting home. I've been in the ABC several times but only ABC1 so not sure how tiny or otherwise it is.

Actually Judy, a friend of mine was going to inquire about tickets so I could ask her if she's bought some already? How much did you pay for it and would you be able to send it up in time??
Unless there's anyone on the forum you want to sell it to??
Caitlin - I've been told the ABC2 is 350 capacity, so it's reaaally tiny!!

Crikey re venue size ! I see Mumford & Sons are at ABC1 that night. They are sold out, Benson isn't. I have to say it does seem a wee bit odd doing another tour so soon after the 2009 tour when there's not a new album to promote.

I think this tour is needed as Bb's management was pants and so he got new much better management, and now he gets to do things properly... His last tour he didn't even have a website or anything:(
and Soph. I don't need to be paid, I just don't want the tx to go to waste, I'll special delivery it up to you today, you should get it tomorrow morning;)

Thank you, goodness they were awful . Still at least I'll know not to rush to Koko for doors opening. I was a little underwhelmed at Glasgow. Teeny venue and a very short set. I didn't get the sense of Brendan being that in to it. Mark looked to be enjoying himself more.

I thought it was a rather short set too, checked the time when he was off before encores and he'd only done about 50 minutes.... still, really enjoyed it, loved the cover of Better Days. Think I spied American Girl on the set list (either that or Maginary Girl, which would've also been awesome) but he obviously decided not to play it.

OHMYGODREALLY? The Heartless Bastards are awesome. Seriously, awesome. I blame the sound, it wasn't the best in there. The stage seemed to be in a cove so all the sound was epically distorted and thus shit. We talked to the bass player (Jesse) backstage during my meet and greet, he's such a nice bloke! The man loves his boots! We love his pedal steel and his glasses.
I don't think Brendan wasn't in to it, they were obviously so tired after travelling from Dublin. I got the opposite vibe, Mark seemed to be the one silently dying in the corner. We talked to them after the show (duh, meet and greet!!), and Brendan was saying that people often say he doesn't seem in to it, but it's just the face he has... is unenthused a word? The band were saying the same things about us, and we absolutely LOVE every gig we go to, so you can't really judge how someone is feeling by simply looking at their face.
Big up to Katrina for organising the meet and greet, there was some epic planning going in to that.

I agree with Jasmin, I really liked the Heartless Bastards! When Jesse cracked out the Pedal Steel I was totally won over! Such a beautiful instrument!! The sound was shit that night though, but they were amazing at the Koko. Really, really good!
I don't agree that Brendan wasn't into it either, you could tell they were absolutely exhausted - maybe they'd had one too many Guinness' the night before?? Lol.
I thought he was absolutely stunning during the 'Better Days' cover, his voice is amazing. I was really glad we got to hear that.

Just to jump in there too... I'll agree with Jasmin and Soph, i certainly wouldn't say that they weren't into it. Mark was rocking out in little spurts, but he looked knackered, and maybe a little overwhelmed occasionally, bless him. He was telling us that when they had arrived at their hotel in Glasgow they'd all tried to have a bit of a nap but it felt like as soon as he fell asleep his alarm was going off. I think we all know how that feels so they can be forgiven for being a little tired after all their travels. "When your shoes are still warm when you put them back on".
And as for Brendan, I thought he was great, he was cracking me up with the silly faces he was pulling whenever he missed a note etc. And his banter with the kid was fun.
Yeah the set was a little shorter that day, but you can't take the set list as gospel, they just use it as a guide.
And the Heartless Bastards... I fell madly in love with Cory Chisel on the last tour so i was really missing them before this show, so anyone was gonna lose in a comparison with Cory for me. The sound in ABC2 was terrible to be honest, so i didn't think the Heartless Bastards sounded great, i couldn't really hear anything that Erica was singing. But they were really good in London, totally rocked up the big stage at the KOKO.

Haha I was just to the left of the wee kid, poor boy seemed bloody terrified when Brendan started speaking to him.

You must have been stood behind me? The kid was terrified, he kept hiding behind me whenever Brendan asked him to go stand at the front!
